The Wells Petroglyph Preserve is now open and weekly public tours as well as other tour options are available once again. Public tours are held at 9:30 a.m. every Wednesday and Saturday now until November 27. During the hot summer months of June, July and August tours will begin at 8:30 am. Pre-registration is required. Only 12 spots per day.

The 181-acre Preserve is located midway between Santa Fe and Taos, New Mexico. Donated to the Archaeological Conservancy by the Project’s founder, Katherine Wells, it contains over 10,000 petroglyphs and is part of the largest petroglyph site in NM!  Our docents lead visitors through an insightful two-hour tour of petroglyphs representing Archaic, Ancestral Puebloan and Historic Period time periods.
