Tomorrow: Udall To Urge Colleagues To Defend The Constitution And Stand Up To The President’s Power Grab

Senator’s address precedes vote on Joint Resolution to Block National Emergency Declaration.

WASHINGTON -- TOMORROW, Thursday, March 14, 2019 at approximately 10:45 a.m. ET / 8:45 a.m MT, ahead of a historic vote on the bipartisan joint resolution to block the president’s national emergency declaration, U.S. Senator Tom Udall will speak on the Senate floor to urge his colleagues to support the resolution, uphold the separation of powers, and stand up to the president’s unconstitutional power grab.

Udall will speak following Senator Susan Collins (R-Maine), who joined him, along with Senators Jeanne Shaheen (D-N.H.), and Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska), in introducing the bipartisan resolution in the Senate to terminate the president’s national emergency declaration. The resolution, which serves as a companion bill to H.J.Res.46, passed the House of Representatives last month with a bipartisan vote of 245-182.
