SANTA FE – Today, the New Mexico House of Representatives passed a bill that will improve New Mexico’s voter registration processes and help more eligible voters participate in their democracy. Senate Bill 672, sponsored by Senator Daniel Ivey-Soto, Senator Linda Lopez, and Representative Linda Trujillo, previously passed the Senate 24-16 and today passed the House 45-22. The bill will now return to the Senate for concurrence after amendments were added during the House floor debate.

Secretary Of State Responds To Unanimous House Passage Of Bill To Expand Public Financing Of New Mexico Elections

SANTA FE – On Saturday, the New Mexico House of Representatives unanimously passed an important update to the state’s public financing system that will expand public financing of certain races in New Mexico elections. Senate Bill 4 passed the Senate 34-1 earlier this session and passed the House floor tonight 59-0. It will now go back to the Senate for concurrence after amendments were added in the House.​

Bipartisan State Canvassing Board Unanimously Certifies 2018 General Election Results

SANTA FE ― New Mexico’s State Canvassing Board met today in Santa Fe and unanimously certified the official results of the 2018 general election.

The Board also officially ordered automatic recounts in three electoral contests. The official, certified results for every 2018 general election contest except those with pending recounts can be viewed on the Secretary of State’s website.
