SANTA FE – On Saturday, a bill to add more accountability to those in publicly elected positions passed the House Judiciary Committee. House Bill 169, sponsored by Rep. Matthew McQueen (D-Galisteo), would remove the pension of an elected official if they are convicted of abusing their position of power.
