Santa Fe National Forest Waives Fees On Veterans Day; SFNF Offices Closed Nov. 11 For The Federal Holiday
All SFNF offices will be closed that day in observance of the federal holiday. Normal business hours will resume on Thursday, Nov. 12.
The Santa Fe National Forest (SFNF) today extended the closure order for a 4-mile segment of Forest Road (FR) 10 to protect public health and safety while crews continue work to replace a total of 24 culverts and resurface the road.
The Forest Service Burned Area Emergency Response (BAER) Team assigned to the Medio Fire on the Santa Fe National Fire (SFNF) completed a rapid assessment of the fire’s effects, including the potential for post-fire flooding, erosion and sedimentation
Sept. 2, 2020 – A Forest Service Burned Area Emergency Response (BAER) Team plans to begin assessing post-fire conditions on the Medio Fire as early as Thursday. With a primary focus on human life and safety, the BAER Team will analyze the fire’s impact, determine any values at immediate risk and recommend emergency treatments.
The Santa Fe National Forest (SFNF) today issued a closure order for recreation sites, Forest Service roads and trails, and areas within the Pecos Wilderness impacted by the Winsor Ridge Fire.

SANTA FE ― Fire managers on the Santa Fe National Forest are planning to conduct multiple prescribed burns across the forest between now and the end of the year. Any decision to burn will be dependent on favorable conditions, including fuel moisture levels, air quality and weather forecasts.
