Catching Up With the Pojoaque Valley Elks Boys Basketball

Pojoaque competes in District 2-4A that includes Espanola Valley High School, Los Alamos High School, Moriarty High School and Taos High School. Pojoaque was 3-5 in district play last season. The Elks play in three tournaments in December, including their own Ben Lujan Tournament.

Pojoaque Picks Up Second Win


The Pojoaque Valley High School boys basketball team bounced back from its first loss of the season with its second win to improve to 2-1 on the season.

Lady Sundevils Take First At St. Michael’s Tournament

The Española Valley High School Lady Sundevils won their second tournament championship so far this season, knocking off host St. Michael’s High School 51-33 in the championship game of the Lady Horsemen Tournament  Dec. 30 in Santa Fe. Española had taken first place in the Jaguar Invitational  Tournament Dec. 5 in Santa Fe.

Both the Espanola Sundevils and the Pojoaque Elks cross country teams traveled to Los Alamos on Oct. 23 for one of the largest and most important races of the season. The Los Alamos invitational draws schools from around the state in what is considered one of the important test races just before going to District and State.
