On July 12, 2020 at about 9:42 p.m., the New Mexico State Police investigated a fatal crash on US 64, near mile post 151, west of Chama, NM.
It’s been over 50 years since I moved to Northern New Mexico. There are many great memories and been some big changes since then fishing here and in Southern Colorado. A lot of those memories and changes have happened on the Chama River.
Last weekend Chama celebrated Chama Days, with a dance, rodeo and of course the parade. Dozens of entries into the parade lined up early Saturday on 1st Street and began marching at 10 a.m. This year’s Chama Days royalty rode past attendees on floats and horses, along with many other participants. And of course, several candidates for elected office and their supporters also were in the parade.
