SANTA FE, N.M.  – Friday, Secretary of State Maggie Toulouse Oliver will hold a public input hearing in the state capitol on a draft amendment to the state’s Campaign Finance Rule. The amendment was mandated by the passage of Senate Bill 3 during the 2019 New Mexico Legislative Session, which directed the Secretary of State to promulgate rules in order to implement the changes to the Campaign Reporting Act contained in Senate Bill 3.

SANTA FE – New Mexico Secretary of State Maggie Toulouse Oliver has released a draft amendment to the state’s Campaign Finance Rule and announced a public hearing in the state’s capital to gather community input about the draft amendment.

State Campaign Finance Laws Strengthened By Bi-Partisan Passage Of Sbl 3 In House Of Representatives

SANTA FE – On Saturday, the New Mexico House of Representatives moved the state one step closer to a more transparent and accountable campaign finance system with their passage of Senate Bill 3 on a 48-17 vote. The bill passed the Senate 36-6 earlier in the 2019 Legislative Session and now must go to a conference committee in order to reconcile the bill after amendments were added in the House.

SANTA FE ― Wednesday, the New Mexico State Senate passed an important bill on the Senate floor that will improve transparency in our campaign finance system.

Senate Bill 3 passed the Senate Wednesday 36-6 and, if it becomes law, will create clearer and more robust reporting requirements for money spent trying to influence our elections in New Mexico.
