AG Balderas Keeps Alleged Rapist, Kidnapper, Human Trafficker Behind Bars

Albuquerque, NM – Today, Attorney General Hector Balderas secured the preventative detention of Mario Morales, a man accused of human trafficking, kidnapping, criminal sexual penetration, false imprisonment and more. The New Mexico Office of the Attorney General successfully extradited Morales, following his arrest in Arizona last month. Following the NMOAG’s preventative detention motion in November, Morales was indicted on more 15 charges, 14 of them felonies.

Supreme Court Denies Defendant’s Petition for Review, Defendant’s 49-year Sentence is Final

Albuquerque, NM – Today, Attorney General Hector Balderas announced that Sharoski Jackson, the man convicted of trafficking a child in 2013, will remain behind bars. The Supreme Court of New Mexico today denied Jackson’s petition for review. Previously, the New Mexico Court of Appeals upheld Jackson’s conviction for human trafficking and other crimes.
