Summer Music Festival This Friday!

Staff Report

This coming Friday valley residents will be treated to a special show with the 2nd Annual Summer Music Festival honoring our Public Safety Heroes at the Plaza De Española.

Zia Credit Union, a locally run credit union began this concert last fall by bringing together a group of local organizations and the City of Española to host a family friendly event.

Annitte Lujan, Vice President with Zia Credit Union and event organizer explained “When Zia Credit Union began this concert series last summer, our intent was to promote a positive activity for the community.”

It was a huge success with the City of Española and Chamber of Commerce joining to bring in other partners. Several hundred people attended the 2016 event. This year organizers are expecting an even bigger showing with more businesses sponsoring activities at the concert. Del Norte Credit Union has partnered with Zia Credit Union and is sponsoring a train ride to give kids and the young at heart rides around the Plaza.

Lujan, who also serves as the President of the Española Valley Chamber of Commerce added “We are thrilled with the community and business response and are looking forward to other businesses joining us in sponsoring similar events in the future.”

The City of Española and Chamber of Commerce are co-hosting this concert, and KDCE Radio will be broadcasting live from the event.

Local entertainment will be provided by Northern 505 and Sim Balkey.  Not to mention surprise entertainment by local police, fire fighters and our community’s “Public Safety Heroes”.

The Music Fest will run from 5:00 to 10:00pm on Friday June, 23 at the Plaza De Española. And following the event, there will be a special “After Party” at the Blue Heron Brewery across the street!

This is a great event to bring family and friends.  See below for the event flyer to learn more.
