Spanish Colonial Arts Society presents Charlie Carrillo lecture Sunday

Charlie Carrillo will lecture on Penitent Perspectives: History, Ritual and Misconceptions at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 23 at The Museum of Spanish Colonial Art, 750 Camino Lejo, Santa Fe.

The lecture will focus on the misconstructed history of the members of La Cofradia de Nuestro Padre Jesus Nazareno, better known as Hermonos.

Additionally, it will explore who they really are, including a discussion about ritual and penitence spirituality. The lecture will dispel several myths concerning their origins and finally place this confraternity in its proper historical context.

Members are free, non-members pay $10.

RSVP to 505-982-2222 or email education@spanishcolonial.org.
