Scenes From Chama Days Parade

Last weekend Chama celebrated Chama Days, with a dance, rodeo and of course the parade. Dozens of entries into the parade lined up early Saturday on 1st Street and began marching at 10 a.m. This year’s Chama Days royalty rode past attendees on floats and horses, along with many other participants. And of course, several candidates for elected office and their supporters also were in the parade.

See below for some more images from the 2017 Chama Days Parade, provided by Tonya Mahan. Thanks Tonya!

Several classic cars took part in the parade, including these two.

Lining up at the start of the parade, the Grand Marshal and others rode in a vintage stage coach, followed by a carriage and floats.

The Chama Fire Department participated as well.

A float and horses for this year's Chama Days Queen, AnnLee Robinson and her court.

Supporters of the Sheriff and two other candidates for the office were on hand to show their support.

Other candidates supporters marched for Governor, Lt. Governor, State Treasurer and other offices.

And several local businesses and groups participated.

What would Chama Days be without Cumbres & Toltec Railroad being represented? This world famous narrow gauge railroad is a tourism driver for northern New Mexico and a major draw to Chama, where it is headquartered.

And of course, what would a parade be without Shriners in their very small cars!

See you next year at Chama Days!
