Police Ofc. Ronnie Martinez Receives Medal Of Honor

SANTA FE - New Mexico Corrections Department Cabinet Secretary Gregg Marcantel has presented a Medal of Honor to Ofc. Ronnie Martinez, who was held hostage during the 1980 prison riot.

The Feb. 2, 1980 prison riot at the Penitentiary of New Mexico is considered one of the most gruesome and deadly prison riots in the nation’s history.
