Pojoaque Elks Athlete Of The Week

The Valley Daily Post, in cooperation with Pojoaque Athletics and our sponsor, Henry Valencia Inc., is proud to presents the Pojoaque Elks Athlete of the Week.

This week the Pojoaque Valley High School Junior John Hall is the Henry Valencia Elks Athlete of the Week.

The Valley Daily Post supplied Hall with a questionnaire and here are his answers.

What do you hope to get out of running cross country?

I would like to help my team win a state championship, and I hope to be able to run in college.

What are your favorite subjects at school?

Who do you credit with your success in athletics or who do you admire?

My Dad has trained me from the beginning and helped me become faster and reach for my goals. Also, all my coaches and other people who have helped me and prepared me to become the runner I am today. And most of all, if it wasn’t for God I never would have made it this far, and I thank God for blessing me with this talent.

What do you want to do after high school? College? Where and what will you study?

After high school, I would like to attend college at Grand Canyon University, or Oregon. I hope to go to college where I can learn motivational speaking to help others.

Coach Question-What makes this athlete stand out?

John Hall has been a very outstanding and “driven” athlete. He works at preparing to compete every day, seven days a week.  Though he is a “self-driven” runner, he has learned and appreciates the idea of team, and has become a leader by example. He is a very quiet and respectful young man, with an appreciation of his religion, team and family.
