Pets Of The Week

Each week the Valley Daily Post features pets that are ready for adoption.

Take a look at this weeks highlighted pets and then drop by the shelter to see the whole selection.

Boo is a full grown shepherd mix with a darling personality. She's typically a little nervous when she meets someone for the first time but warms up to gentle pets and belly rubs. Boo enjoys running around the office area with a toy in her mouth or lying down under the desk while we work. She's the perfect size dog for a smaller home but she'd enjoy a home without children. She is about 1yr old.  Adults tend to be a little easier for her to adjust to. We're pretty confident she's house-trained but she could use some work on her leash skills. If you're an adult looking for an exercise partner or just some affectionate company, Boo is the girl for you.

Rambunctious and so very cute, Julio just can not wait to find his family. He is about 12wks old and is a heeler mix. So he will need to be kept busy. Julio came to the shelter as a stray, so a fenced yard would be best for him. He would do great with other dog and with older children. He is very rambunctious so he will need some basic training. He is young so learning will be easy for him. Julio will make a great family member.

There is one unwanted animal for every two households in Española. The Española Valley Humane Society performs over 5,000 spay and neuter surgeries each year.  Please help end pet overpopulation by donating at
