MaryLou Garcia
MaryLou Garcia, 56, a resident of Chimayo formally of Chamita, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 4, 2018.

MaryLou was preceded in death by her daughter, Stephanie Ann Padilla; granddaughter, Annalysa Padilla; father, Genaro Rodriguez Sr.; brothers, Thomas and Anthony Rodriguez; maternal grandparents, Albert and Rosita De Herrera, paternal grandparents, Rosendo and Fedelina Rodriguez; close uncle, Romolo De Herrera; brothers-in-law, Anthony Martinez, Delfine Archuleta, Gilbert Garcia, and Henry Garcia; father and mother–in-law, Bernabe and Fabiola Garcia.

MaryLou was a loving person who loved her family dearly. She always had a beautiful smile on her face. She will always be remembered by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her husband, Johnny Garcia; daughter, Machelle Rodriguez (Francisco), son, Harold Padilla Jr. (Barbara), Joseph Padilla (Jami); grandson who she raised as her own, Jerod Walker; step-sons, Johnny Garcia Jr., Timothy Garcia, Danny Garcia (Julie), step-daughter, Kathy Naranjo (Donald); grandchildren, Neveah Trujillo, MariahLee Garcia, TJ Garcia, Matthew Rodriguez, Kaylee Padilla, Alexa Padilla, Andrew Padilla, Adam Padilla, Destiny Padilla, Rayanne Padilla, Lynessa Padilla, and Jordan Padilla; mother, Irene Rodriguez Vigil (Eddie); sisters, Debra Martinez, Betty Rodriguez (Manuel) and Julia Rodriguez, brother, Genaro Rodriguez (Sally); God-daughter, Shana Mendoza; sisters-in-law, Aggie Lujan, Mary Padilla, Eugenia Barela (Johnny), Josie Garcia, Pat Trujillo (Audoro), and Paulene Garcia, brothers -in-law, Clyde Garcia (Toni), Ben Garcia (Flora); her dog, Mia; aunts, Lydia Wheeler, Linda Chavez (Paul), Joann DeAguero (Archie), Cordie Herrera (Adonaldo), June Galvan, Elma Lovesee, Bernie Trujillo, Maxine Martinez, and Flora Granadino (Jose), uncles, David De Herrera (Marie), and Pete DeHerrera (Roberta), and many other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory.

The family of MaryLou Garcia has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Espanola Valley.

 


Antonio Herrera

Antonio Herrera, 29, a resident of Dixon, passed away on Tuesday, May 1, 2018. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Antonio and Eloisa Herrera; Tio Tony and Tia Conchita Herrera of Dixon and Tia Carol Martinez of Espanola, NM; maternal grandfathers, Dennis Gallegos and Robert Thompson and his best friend, Jerry Muniz.

Antonio's number one passion was to spend time with his son as well as his family, his second passion was skiing. He worked the winter months as a ski and snowboard instructor at the Sipapu Ski Resort; with all whom were a second family to him. He loved spending time outdoors enjoying the scenery and fishing. He was a jack of all trades who enjoyed mechanic and auto body work, especially fixing up his 1969 Chevy Impala. He was a very talented artist who loved to draw and make wood burnings.

Antonio is survived by his parents, Lawrence Herrera and Teresa Gallegos of Dixon, NM; son, Antonio Herrera Jr. of Dixon; fiancé, Brianna Villapando; stepdaughter, Adrianna Ramirez; sisters, Angelica Herrera of Dixon, Lenora Herrera of Alcalde, Michelle(Paul) Valdez of Velarde and Nicole England of Espanola; brother, Daniel Maestas of Espanola; nieces, Kyla Medina, Estrella Brito, Sophia and Sydney Maes; nephews, Thomas, Isaiah, Devon Valdez, and Joseph Medina; maternal grandmother, Eliza Thompson, Godparents, Dennis and Tammy Gallegos of Santa Cruz; aunt, Bernadette (Eric) of Santa Cruz, uncle, Larry Gallegos(Roseann) of Santa Cruz, aunt, Gina Martinez(Nelson) of Albuquerque, uncles, Robert Gonzales of Dixon, Frank and Juan Herrera of Dixon, aunt, Lillian Herrera of Albuquerque and many other cousins and friends whom he loved dearly.

Public visitation will begin on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the San Antonio de Padua Catholic Church in Dixon. Burial to follow at the Dixon Cemetery.
