NMDOT Prepares For El Santuario De Chimayo Walk

SANTA FE ― The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) will begin sweeping operations on US 84/285 from mile marker 165.2 (Alamo Drive North of Santa Fe) to mile marker 189.1 (Stanley Griego Bridge in Espanola).

The sweeping operations kicks off NMDOT maintenance crews schedules for cleaning activities and preparation for the annual El Santuario de Chimayo Walk.

Starting Monday, April 8 motorists can expect minor delays 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. during the day and 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. during the night. There will be one-lane closures on the US 84/285 northbound and southbound lanes. NMDOT maintenance crews will begin sweeping the northbound lanes at Alamo Drive in Santa Fe towards Espanola and then move to the southbound lanes.

The sweeping operations are scheduled for completion Wednesday, April 10; weather permitting. NMDOT thanks the public for its patience during this time.

Drivers are urged to proceed with caution through the work zone, watch for maintenance personnel in the area; observe traffic control signs and reduce speed to the posted limit.

Updates on this work will be posted on the New Mexico Department of Transportation’s road advisory website www.nmroads.com.
