National Weather Service Issues Hazardous Weather Outlook

The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for portions of north and central New Mexico.

Day On...Today and Tonight

Moderate snow accumulations are expected across the Sangre de Cristo and Tusas Mountains, Upper Rio Grande Valley and areas near Raton Pass today and tonight. Snowpacked and icy roads will be possible, making travel difficult. Areas of blowing snow, especially near Raton Pass, will reduce visibility.

Days Two Through Seven...Saturday through Thursday

Another storm system will shift across New Mexico Saturday night through Sunday. This system will bring another round of light to moderate snow accumulations to much of New Mexico. However, due to model inconsistency, it is too early to speculate what areas will see the greatest snow totals. Stay tuned to later forecasts.

Spotter Information Statement...

Spotters are encouraged to report rain and snow amounts through the National Weather Service Albuquerque web site at weather.gov/abq or by calling 1.888.386.7637. You can also submit storm reports and photos on our Facebook page or via Twitter using the hashtag nmwx.
