Moving Arts Española Leaps Into Its 11th Year

Moving Arts Española (MAE) provides high quality, affordable performing and visual arts education and free nutritional and academic support for children and youth ages 3-18. The average age of students is nine.

The programs promote the creative, physical, academic, social and emotional health and wellbeing of children and youth from the Española Valley and the surrounding communities of northern New Mexico.

MAE serves Española; the Pueblos of Pojoaque, Santa Clara and Ohkay Owingeh; the villages and towns of rural Rio Arriba County, including: Abiquiu, Alcalde, Cañones, Chamita, Chili, Chimayo, Dixon, El Duende, El Guique, El Rito, Embudo, Gallina, Hernandez, La Madera, La Mesilla, La Villita, Lyden, Medanales, Ojo Caliente, Ojo Sarco, Santa Cruz, Tierra Amarilla, Truchas, and Velarde.

The majority of families travel more than 50 miles roundtrip to bring their children to MAE.

This has been a great year for MAE. This fall, its Harvest Moon Giving Campaign exceeded the $15,000 goal and the Moving Hearts campaign also exceeded its goal. It produced two major productions and numerous other performances.

Now MAE is launching into its Spring Program, offering numerous classes in everything from cooking to acrobatics.
