Positions Available:  1                                            Department:  ESPANOLA MANAGER’S OFFICE

Principal Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain comprehensive electronic and hard copy filing systems for all legal files;
  • Maintains calendar of appointments; meetings and task lists;
  • Draft correspondence and prepare other legal paperwork on behalf of and for the review and approval of the County Attorney;
  • Conduct informational research online and telephonically;
  • File legal documents electronically and in a hard copy;
  • Establish procedures to increase the efficiency of the office;
  • Work respectfully with other County employees;
  • All other routine clerical duties, including fielding telephone calls, taking messages, ordering supplies, supporting the county Attorney in other matters as assigned.

Skills, knowledge, and abilities:

  • Self-motivated and proactive with a strong work ethic, efficient, honest, reliable, trustworthy, respectful of strict confidentiality requirements, organized, willing to learn, flexible in thought, have a growth mindset, self-accountable, have the ability to manage stress and a heavy workload effectively, be comfortable and effective working alone for significant periods of time, able to multi-task and demonstrate attention to detail;
  • Strong reading comprehension, written and verbal communication skills, computer literate and proficient.


  • Applicant must complete a Pre-employment drug test;
  • A High School Diploma or GED is required;
  • Applicant must possess a Valid New Mexico Driver’s License;
  • This position requires reporting to, working closely with and being the primary administrative support for only one immediate supervisor, the County Attorney.  Applicants will be evaluated on objective qualifications, the intangible qualities mentioned above and on rapport and compatibility.
