Joseph Louis Sanchez officially kicks off campaign for State Representative, District 40

From a press release

Joseph Louis Sanchez, Alcalde native, officially kicks off his campaign to fill the District 40 seat left open by the retirement of State Representative Nick Salazar. The campaign kickoff begins with a celebration on Saturday, December 2nd at 7:00 pm at the Casanova Nite Club in Alcalde.  “These are big shoes to fill. The many years of dedicated service to the people of District 40 by Representative Salazar can be seen in the numerous programs and projects Representative Salazar championed and brought to our District. I am ready to continue and build upon Representative Salazar’s many successes,” states Candidate Joseph Sanchez.

Mr. Sanchez brings with him a diversity of management skills and experiences, numerous educational degrees and various licensure and professional affiliations. Mr. Sanchez has served as CEO of the Jemez Mountains Electric Cooperative, Inc., he has served as an electrical engineer in support of LANL construction and operations programs, and is currently an engineer for the Engineering Services Division of LANL.  Mr. Sanchez holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of New Mexico and two Master’s Degrees, one in Electrical Engineering and one in Business Administration, both from the University of New Mexico. Mr. Sanchez is a Registered Professional Engineer in New Mexico and an IEEE Professional Society Member.

Known by many he has worked with for his professionalism, Sanchez states, “As Representative of all constituents of District 40, I will be respectful and responsive. You can count on me to show up on time for meetings, to respond to all phone calls and emails, and to do so in a timely manner. I will listen to all concerns and ideas and I will do my best to manifest viable and sustainable solutions which enhance and lift up our communities and constituents”

Issues of focus for Mr. Sanchez include: early childhood education and quality education for our youth; economic development which is sustainable and takes into account our community values; tougher yet smarter drug laws and improved support for law enforcement agencies; community mental health support; and support for our farmers, ranchers and acequias.

“Joseph is deeply rooted in the rural traditions and values shared by those who reside in the communities in District 40 and he brings a fresh perspective and a creative mind. This is what we need to address the issues we face as we work to balance progress while keeping intact the things we love about our rural lifestyles”, states Jenni Wichers, a resident from Angel Fire.

Mr. Sanchez also has a long record as an active member of the community, working to improve the lives of others. He is a member of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northern New Mexico and is a Board Member of United Way of Northern New Mexico.

“Joseph knows the difference between public service and self-service. He is not a politician with a hidden agenda to achieve political status for his own ego. Joseph is qualified and able, and he is true, humble and sincere. Joseph is the best person to be the voice at the state Legislature for the people and communities of District 40” states Andrea Martinez, a resident from Rio Arriba County.

Come meet the candidate! All are invited on December 2nd at 7:00 pm at the Casanova in Alcalde to join the family and supporters of Joseph Louis Sanchez as we kick off the campaign to elect Joseph as NM State Representative of District 40.
