"HEALING VOICES" event at Northern New Mexico College April 16

Event honors Sexual Assault Awareness & Prevention Month.

Española, NM — Northern New Mexico College is hosting a day of HEALING VOICES at Northern's Center for the Arts, Tuesday, April 16, to honor Sexual Assault Awareness & Prevention Month. 

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., this free, open-to-all event will offer refreshments, guest speaker Christina Castro, information booths and a guided meditation. The event features two films, Cheyanne’s Story, produced by Healing Voices Personal Stories, and A Thousand Voices, co-produced by Dr. Matthew Martinez, as well as dances performed by Ohkay Owingeh Butterfly Dancers and (tentatively) Aztec Dancers.

Sponsored by Tewa Women United, PeaceKeepers, Healing Voices/Personal Stories, and NNMC Student Life Committee, Office of Equity & Diversity Council, and American Indian Student Organization.

"Healing Voices" is free and open to the public.
