Fire Conditions Threaten Entire State

The entire state is under strict fire restrictions due to extremely dry conditions, increasing temperatures and wind. Our neighboring community Los Alamos has gone so far as to issue a public notice for the entire county to be ready to evacuate if a fire erupts in the Jemez mountains. Much of national forest and state lands are closed to all visitors because of the restrictions.

Fire restrictions throughout New Mexico can be found at https://firerestrictions.us/nm/fire and fire updates are posted on the New Mexico Fire Information Website at www.nmfireinfo.com.

For residents of Los Alamos seeking more information on preparing for an evacuation, see the Ready Set Go program at http://www.wildlandfirersg.org/Resident.
