Cordova Resident Enters West Point Military Academy

Cordova resident and newly accepted Cadet at West Point, Francis Castillo De Mulert joined other incoming new Cadets from the U.S. Military Academy Class of 2020 in Cadet Basic Training. Castillo De Mulert spent the last six weeks in a rigorous program that trains New Cadets in basic military skills and prepares them for entry into the U.S. Military Academy, or West Point (see earlier story on Castillo De Mulert HERE).

Castillo De Mulert is seen in the photo above completing a 12-mile road “March Back” march from Camp Buckner to West Point on Aug. 8, 2016. March Back is the culmination of the training program prior to induction.

The Acceptance Day Parade will be Saturday, Aug. 13, 2016 when the class of 2020 joins the rest of the Corps of Cadets on the Plain at USMA.
