The Española Valley High School football team was constantly reminded Aug. 5 that things had changed. No longer was standing around or walking going to be tolerated. Today was the first official day of practice for the 2019 season.
After a period of hot temperatures, the weather has fallen into a typical monsoon season pattern with clouds building over the mountains during the day and forming thunderstorms in the late afternoon and evenings. Some of these storms will move down into the valleys.
The embattled Española Valley High School football program, just a little over two weeks away from the official start of the 2019 season with the beginning of two-a-day practices Aug. 5, is looking for a new coach after the resignation of Miguel Medina.
The weather has entered what we like to call “monsoon season” here in the Southwest.
New Mexico anglers like to travel to Southern Colorado to fish some of the admittedly great rivers, lakes and streams there. Unfortunately, they are in for an unpleasant surprise this year.
