Pojoaque competes in District 2-4A that includes Espanola Valley High School, Los Alamos High School, Moriarty High School and Taos High School. Pojoaque was 3-5 in district play last season. The Elks play in three tournaments in December, including their own Ben Lujan Tournament. 
“When you say you’re rebuilding, you’re saying you expect to be a good team in like two years,” Espinoza said. “I think we can be a contender again this season.”
The Elkettes first four games are on the road. Their first home game is Dec. 10 against Del Norte High School.
