Today, the National Congress of American Indians (NCAI) welcomed the Washington NFL team’s announcement this morning of its plan to conduct a “thorough review” of the team’s name and mascot, which represents an important breakthrough for Indian Country in its longstanding effort to change the name and mascot.  
The Sun Country Amateur Golf Association will be kicking off the 2020 competitive golf season with its most prestigious event, the New Mexico - West Texas Amateur Championship. The event is set to be held June 12-14, 2020 at Horizon Golf Club in Horizon City, Texas just outside of El Paso.

Pojoaque Valley High School’s Michaela Martinez will get to continue playing the sport she loves after signing a National Letter of Intent to attend and play basketball at New Mexico Highlands University in Las Vegas, NM during a ceremony attended by family and friends, May 26, at her home in Chimayo.
“It was a tough game,” Espanola Coach Gabe Martinez said. “We keep doing the same thing we’ve been doing and learn from this game. We need to have short-term memories. Leave this game in the past and move forward.”
