This event is sponsored by various law enforcement agencies, punitive measures are restricted during the walk. Non-addicts, recovering-addicts and many whom never used drugs or consumed alcohol, check in and prepare for an estimated 5 mile walk.
“Before Triad even began operating the Laboratory, the people of Rio Arriba County and the Pojoaque Valley made it clear to us that substance abuse is a significant, pressing issue for their communities,” said Thom Mason, LANL director and president of Triad, who announced the grant Tuesday at UWNNM’s annual meeting and 2019/20 fundraising campaign kick-off at the Mision y Convento in Española. “Triad is grateful to have the ability to support this initiative. We are committed to the health and wellness of the people and the communities that surround the Laboratory.”
The Santa Fe National Forest (SFNF) will waive fees at many recreation sites and amenities on Saturday, Sept. 28, for National Public Lands Day (NPLD). As the nation's largest, single-day volunteer effort for public lands, NPLD is a great opportunity for more Americans to get outdoors and connect with their public lands.
