Win Last Night, Earns Sundevils A Shot At The Regular Season District Title

Espanola Valley Sundevils defeated the Moriarty Pintos 56-45 in a District 2-4A game Tuesday night at Edward Medina Gymnasium. The win sets up a showdown against Taos High School Saturday at Espanola with the winner claiming the District 2-4A regular season championship.

The Sundevils led 17-12 at the end of the first quarter and 34-20 at halftime. Moriarty cut the lead to 44-36 by the end do of the third quarter.

Espanola started the fourth quarter with a 9-3 run to take a 53-39 lead and hold off the Pintos for the victory.
