Wienerschnitzel Is Opening!
Wienerschnitzel, the World’s Largest Hot Dog Chain, is opening a new “Heritage” restaurants in Espanola, as part of an expansion of opening four stores nationwide this month. Wienerschnitzel ‘s corporate office in California reports that four new “state-of-art Heritage stores” are being opened during July, including locations in Espanola and Los Lunas, N.M., as well as Lufkin and Nederland, Texas. The company reports that these openings make July 2018 one of the best months for new construction openings in recent history.
The Espanola store is unique among these new stores as the first in the company to utilize what Wienerschnitzel calls the revolutionary Heritage “Plus” design, boasting inside dining to the traditional ‘Heritage’ prototype. The new inclusive dining with drive-thru, and outside patio seating all fit on the same footprint as the standard Heritage model.
Craig Wood, co-owner of the franchise team named RIOT, LLC, broke ground on the Espanola site in January. “The closest Wienerschnitzel to Espanola is 90 miles away in Albuquerque – so we’re delighted to introduce locals to both the world’s best hot dogs and the world’s best-looking hot dog restaurant,” said Woods. “My passion for Wienerschnitzel has only just begun.”
Wood steps into the Wienerschnitzel business after serving as director of development at Lotaburger for 23 years. He will host a grand opening in Espanola later this month and plans additional restaurants in the area.
The new Espanola Wienerschnitzel is at 601 Silky Road (behind McDonald’s) and joins a second New Mexico restaurant opening this month at 1433 Main St. SW in Los Lunas. The two locations become the tenth and 11th restaurants in the state, respectively.
Founded by John Galardi in 1961 with a single hot dog stand in Wilmington, Calif., Wienerschnitzel (www.wienerschnitzel.com) is one of the real pioneers of the quick-service food industry. Having successfully carved out a niche with hot dogs, The World’s Largest Hot Dog Chain serves more than 120 million hot dogs annually. Irvine, Calif.-based Galardi Group, Inc., franchises restaurants throughout the U.S., including Wienerschnitzel, Hamburger Stand, and Tastee-Freez LLC.
An iconic American brand with a devoted following for over 55 years, the company recently introduced a next-generation store design that combines a unique and simple menu featuring chili dogs, chili cheese fries, corn dogs and Tastee-Freez soft-serve desserts with a smaller footprint and a lower cost of entry.
