United Way Of Northern New Mexico Taps Cindy Padilla As New Executive Director
The United Way of Northern New Mexico has hired Cindy Padilla as its new executive director. She replaces Mary Beth Maassen who moved last month to Arizona.
Padilla has a background in community organization, environmental protection and volunteer mobilization. For more than two years, she served as an appointee of President Barack Obama, as the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of Aging in the Administration of Aging, Department of Health and Human Services. She came to her appointment in the Obama Administration after a long career in public service in New Mexico.
Padilla previously served as division director of environmental services for the City of Santa Fe and as a private consultant specializing in public policy/programs.
Padilla holds a Bachelor of Social Work and obtained her graduate studies in Public Administration from the University of New Mexico.
