TOMORROW: Udall To Host Broadband Summit In Albuquerque
Udall will discuss improving access to broadband and closing the digital divide in New Mexico.
TOMORROW, Friday, March 22, 2019 in Albuquerque, U.S. Senator Tom Udall will host a broadband summit titled “Connecting New Mexico – The Future of Broadband in Our State” in partnership with the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) where he will discuss the importance of increasing broadband access across New Mexico. The summit brings together approximately 250 community leaders, broadband providers, health care professionals, educators, and Tribal leaders to learn about best practices in broadband planning and community implementation, cultivate opportunities for broadband partnerships, and learn about federal and state funding opportunities.
As a member of the Senate Commerce Committee and vice chairman of the Senate Indian Affairs Committee, Udall has long championed strong federal investment in expanding broadband to close the digital divide and improve access to education, health care, and job opportunities in rural, Tribal, and low-income communities across New Mexico and Indian Country.
