Super Bowl LIV Kansas City Chiefs Take On The San Francisco 49ers

Super Bowl LIV (54) today features the San Francisco 49ers taking on the Kansas City Chiefs. The 49ers will be going for their 6th NFL title, while the Chiefs return to the Super Bowl for the first time in 50 years since they last appeared in 1970.

The 49ers make their seventh appearance and are 5-1 all-time in the Super Bowl with wins in 1995, 1990, 1989, 1985, and 1982. They come in representing the NFC as the number one seed and a 13-3 regular season record. The 49ers were dominate in their playoff wins beating the Minnesota Vikings 27-10 in the Divisional Round playoff game and then the Green Bay Packers 37-20 in the NFC Championship Game.

The Chiefs make their third appearance and are 1-1 all-time in the Super Bowl with one win in 1970 over the Minnesota Vikings and one loss in Super Bowl One to the Green Bay Packers 35-10 in 1967. They come in representing the AFC as the number two seed and a 12-4 regular season record. The Chiefs were exciting with a questionable defense at times and a powerful offense in their playoff wins beating the Houston Texans 28-24 in the Divisional Round playoff game and then the Tennessee Titans 35-24 in the NFC Championship Game.

The game is being played in Miami Gardens, Florida at Hard Rock Stadium. The halftime show entertainment will feature performances from Jennifer Lopez and Shakira. FOX network will televise the game with kickoff slated for 4:30 p.m., Mountain Standard Time.
