Sundevil Baseball & Softball Teams In Los Alamos Saturday: Both Teams Come Up Short

LOS ALAMOS – The Sundevil baseball and softball teams both traveled to Los Alamos Saturday to face off against the Hill Toppers in double header conference games.

The boys’ baseball team got off to a fast moving but scoreless game at Bomber Field until late in the fifth inning when two errors allowed the Los Alamos team to score two runs. Weather played a factor as unexpectedly cool conditions and sporadic light ran chilled the players. Another error late in the game gave Los Alamos a 3-0 win.

The second game saw Los Alamos take an early lead but the Sundevil boys roared back giving everyone a great game. Española  could not close the deal in the end and Los Alamos took the second game and the District title 6-5.

The Sundevils softball team met Los Alamos at the Overlook Park field in White Rock and had a rough start in their first game, falling 11-1. They rallied for the second game and kept their spirits up but Los Alamos won 13-3.
