STEAM Day At The New Mexico State Legislature Thursday
Join educational organizations and programs on display, as well as leaders, advocates, policy makers for STEAM Education Day at the Roundhouse in Santa Fe 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 17.
As an education partner and advocate, LANL Foundation has hosted STEM Day at the Legislature. This year, recognizing the importance of the inclusion of Creativity, Design and Art in immersive education and learning experiences, the focus of this event is now Steam – Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Mathematics.
STEAM Day objectives include:
Explore STEAM-related, hands-on activities for learners of all ages (local students, visitors, invited guests & NM Legislators will join us).
Educate New Mexicans about STEAM in formal & informal learning environments.
Help community members & legislators understand the relevance of STEAM careers & economic development opportunities across New Mexico.
Advocate for steam education so all students have access to quality curriculum & instruction.
Support New Mexico STEM Ready! Standards.
A press conference focused on education advocacy and policy will be held from 10 –11 a.m. in the Rotunda, speakers to be announced.
