Scenes From Special Olympics Track & Field Meet This Saturday
LOS ALAMOS – Athletes from the Española Valley and throughout northern New Mexico competed in the Los Alamos Special Olympics Track and Field Meet Saturday at Sullivan Field in Los Alamos (See earlier Valley Daily Post article on this meet HERE).
Several volunteers helped work the event and Los Alamos Firefighters also assisted and placed ribbons on athletes at the conclusion of their events.
The Los Alamos Police Department helps raise money for local Special Olympic athletes through T-shirt sales and donations. The LAPD will be running the torch May 28 from the Los Alamos Police Department to Jemez Springs to help raise awareness and support for Special Olympics.
