Santa Fe County Commissioners Support Collaboration on Española/Rio Arriba E-911, Other Entities
SANTA FE – During the course of the May 26, 2015, Santa Fe Board of County Commissioners meeting, Commissioner Henry Roybal expressed general support for Santa Fe County providing some funding for the Española/Rio Arriba County E-911 Center.
“It is crucial that Santa Fe County does the most it can to ensure the availability of emergency services in all portions of the county, including the northern region,” said Commissioner Roybal. The Board directed staff to research the possibility of entering into an agreement with the Española/Rio Arriba County E-911 Center concerning such funding. The issue will be returned to the Santa Fe County Commission for discussion prior to the approval of the final budget in June.
In addition to collaborations regarding emergency services, Commissioner Miguel Chavez voiced his commitment to partnering with other entities. He stated that, “The importance of local government entities standing together to create meaningful policy and advocate for citizens is paramount.” He affirmed that he would be promoting and fostering intergovernmental and public-private relationships in order to provide necessary services and save taxpayers money.
