SANTA FE, NM – Santa Fe County Clerk, Geraldine Salazar responds to COVID-19 and social distancing guidelines by modifying office hours and services. New hours of operation for the public who must be assisted in-person are Monday-Friday 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the Clerk’s lobby at the two customer service windows. The County Clerk’s Office will be closing daily at 4:00 p.m.
Services provided by Clerk’s Recording Division
– Issue Marriage Licenses only for emergency situations and by appointment only. We will evaluate case by case. Santa Fe County Clerk’s Office phone number is 505-986-6280.
– Record Marriage Licenses via mail only.
o Record plat of surveys by appointment only and will evaluated on a case by case basis.
o Notary Services will temporarily no longer be provided.
Services provided by Clerk’s Record Division
o Perform research via mail or email requests. For email requests we would need to accept payment before mailing the request.
o Marriage license copy requests via mail or email only. For email requests we would need to accept payment before mailing the request.
Services provided by Bureau of Elections
o Voter Registration via mail and online only. Voters can register online.
The completion of statutory tasks related to deadlines for the primary election will continue.
“We are doing this as a precautionary measure for the safety and health of our staff and the public,” stated Clerk Salazar. “We are working in coordination with the New Mexico Secretary of State’s Office, Santa Fe County leadership, the county’s COVID-19 Task Force, and other officials in our state, and will provide updates as they become available.”
