Roadway Reconstruction Kicks Off On NM 30 in Pueblo of Santa Clara
The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) has started roadway reconstruction on NM 30 from milepost 7.150 to milepost 7.610 in the Pueblo of Santa Clara.

Starting week of April 17 – 28, 2017, the contractor will begin construction on the west side of NM 30.    They will be working on earthwork and subgrade activities on the shoulder of NM 30. Traffic impacts will be minimal during this time.  Motorists are advised to watch for heavy truck traffic turning in and out of the work zone.

In this photo workers are removing the earthen flood prevention barriers to prepare this section of the road and bridge for construction work.

Starting week of May 1st, the contractor will begin detour paving and setting wall barrier. Traffic will be shifted to one side of the roadway.   NM 30 will have one lane of travel in each direction at all times.  Key Street will remain OPEN to Santa Clara Pueblo local traffic only.  Traffic can expect delays during this time.

Drivers are urged to proceed with caution through the work zone, watch for construction personnel, observe traffic control signs and reduce speed to the posted limit.  Updates on this project will be posted on the New Mexico Department of Transportation’s road advisory website, www.nmroads.com
