Rio Arriba County Annual Health Fair May 6
Rio Arriba County will hold its annual health fair on Friday, May 6, from 10am-3pm, at the Rio Arriba Health Commons. Congressman Ben Ray Lujan will be the featured guest speaker, dialoging with students from the Española area on ending gun violence in northern New Mexico in conjunction with Miranda Viscoli of New Mexicans to Prevent Gun Violence. A live tweet will accompany the dialog. Invited guests to the dialog include: Senator Richard Martinez, Rio Arriba County Sheriff James Lujan, Española Police Chief Richard Gallegos, and students from Española Valley High School.
Organizer Roger Montoya plans to open the fair with a welcome from RAC Health and Human Services Director Lauren Reichelt; followed by: Morning Jazzercise, Silver Sneakers, a Youth Tumbling Demo by Moving Arts, Health Eating Wellness Cooking with Kids Demonstration, Farmers Market, Food Booths, Spoken Word Poetry & Break Dance Crew, New Mexicans to Prevent Gun Violence Exhibition and Round Table, Recovery & Behavioral Health Presenter Updates, and Albert Einstein Charter School Academy Presentation.
Two hundred-forty students from EPS and La Tierra Charter School will attend the event.
