Ricky Serna Announces Resignation From Northern

Ricky Serna, Vice President for Institutional Advancement at Northern New Mexico College announced his resignation from NNMC effective Dec 31.

Serna who tendered his letter of resignation to College President Nancy (Rusty) Barceló On Sunday and briefed college staff on his departure Tuesday morning. When reached for comment Serna said he had been contemplating this move for some time.

“It’s been a tremendous opportunity to work with fantastic people at the college and I will miss it very much, but it’s time for me move on and find what’s next in my professional career” said Serna.

Serna said that he will be spending his last month at NNMC working with President Barceló on next steps and a plan for transition at the college.

After he leaves the college Serna says he has no specific plans but will “take some time to explore what opportunities allow me to continue to work towards the growth of northern New Mexico and the Valley in particular.”
