Pets Of The Week
Week of June 29- July 5
ESPAÑOLA — Each week the Valley Daily Post features a few pets that are ready for adoption. Take a look at this weeks highlighted pets and then drop by the shelter to see the whole selection.
Samson was brought to us by his previous owner that could no longer keep him due to his large size. He is a big boy weighing in at 70 pounds, but he’s such a sweet soul. Samson is about a year and a half and has been neutered, micro-chipped, and his vaccinations are current. He gets along very well with other dogs, but we do not recommend him for a home with cats. Samson wants to be part of the family, and would prefer to be an indoor dog. Even though Samson would be happiest indoors, Samson’s adopters will be required to have no less than a six foot solid fenced yard. Samson is very playful and has a lot of energy, so he would do well in an active family. His adoption fee has been waived to the right family with the purchase of a six month supply of heartworm prevention for only $20.
Tressa was brought to us because she was injured and wasn’t using her hind leg. Upon examination we determined that the injury was not healing and the best course of action was to amputate the injured leg. Tressa has recovered very nicely and is ready for her forever home. She does not enjoy the company of other cats, so we are looking for a home with no dogs or other cats. She will need to be an indoor only cat and we recommend that she not be in a home with small children. Tressa’s adoption fee has been waived to the right home.
