Pets Of The Week

ESPAÑOLA — Each week the Valley Daily Post features a few pets that are ready for adoption. Take a look at this week’s highlighted pets and then drop by the shelter to see the whole selection.

This gentle giant, Deo, came to Española Humane with a badly injured leg, possibly from a trap. Several tendons in his foot were severed, leaving 2 toes unable to function. Aside from having a bit of a swagger and needing his nails trimmed regularly, Deo will likely be a normal extra-large couch potato, near a warm fire for the winter and a warm window sill during the summer. He is about 4 years old and neutered. He is great with people and maybe gentle felines would be best.

Willow is the sweetest dog with people and wants nothing more than to live a life with a family of her own. She’d enjoy a yard where she can play but never be left alone in. She is quite intelligent and easily figures her way out of fencing, so she should only be outdoors when supervised. She was surrendered to animal control because previous owners could not keep her confined in their yard. Willow is about 2 years old and is spayed. She would do great on a ranch if given the training.
