Pets Of The Week
Each week the Valley Daily Post features pets that are ready for adoption.
Take a look at this weeks highlighted pets and then drop by the shelter to see the whole selection.
Sweetie Pie is just as her name describes her, sweet as can be. This darling looks a little rough around the edges but she’s on the road to recovery. She was diagnosed with Demodex mange that went untreated and unfortunately turned into a pretty severe skin condition. We’ve already started her on medication and gave her a soothing bath to help that irritated skin. She’s feeling much better and can be adopted. Sweetie Pie will go home with medication to help aid her in recovery and about 6 weeks from now her fur should return and she’ll be a normal looking puppy again. Don’t let her bad skin fool you, this is temporary but her loving soul is forever!
Tasha is such a cute senior lap-dog looking for a home as loving as she is. This darling is 10 years young and despite having a mammary tumor she’s in otherwise good health. We’ve x-rayed her and there is no cancer in her lungs so we’re confident she has a few good years left of love to spread. If she was spayed as a young adult it’s likely this tumor could have been prevented. She’s spunky and affectionate and all she wants now is to live life everyday the best she can. We will spay Tasha, clean her teeth, and remove her tumor before she goes to a loving home
There is one unwanted animal for every two households in Española. The Española Valley Humane Society performs over 5,000 spay and neuter surgeries each year. Please help end pet overpopulation by donating at evalleyshelter.org.
