Pets Of The Week
ESPAÑOLA — Each week the Valley Daily Post features a few pets that are ready for adoption. Take a look at this weeks highlighted pets and then drop by the shelter to see the whole selection.
Last week’s pet Babs our heartworm dog was adopted last weekend ! This week we highlight Lacey and Sherman for the pets of the week:
Lacey was brought into us as a stray. She is a 4 year old shepherd mix. Lacey gets along well with other dogs and really enjoys walks with our volunteers even though she’s adjusting to wearing a harness. She’s active enough to do lots of activities but mellow enough to hang out in the yard on a Sunday afternoon with you. She has a waived adoption fee to the right home.
Sherman was brought to us by animal control as a stray, but it is apparent that he used to have a home. He is about 7 years old and was already neutered when he came in. This handsome devil is quite a character. He can be very charming, but when he’s done he’s done! Because of this we do not recommend him in a home with children. He’s a big boy with a bit of swagger, and he would do great in an environment where he could go indoors and outdoors. Sherman is up to date on his vaccinations, and has been micro-chipped so he can go home today! His adoption fee has been waived.
Come on in and meet Lacey and Sherman and some of the other wonderful pets available for adoption.
There is 1 unwanted animal for every 2 households in Española. In 2012 we performed 4,012 spay/neuters, and this year we will complete 5,000 spay/neuter surgeries. Please help us end pet overpopulation by donating at evalleyshelter.org.
