ESPAÑOLA, N.M. — Each week the Valley Daily Post features a few pets that are ready for adoption at the Española Valley Humane Society. Take a look at this week’s highlighted pets and then drop by the shelter to see the whole selection.
Jadies is one special kitty! Jadies arrived at the shelter with severe conjunctivitis in her eyes, but despite treatment and intensive care, her eyes weren’t getting better. Our veterinary team diagnosed her with a condition called entropion: Jadies’ eyelids were folded under, and her eyelashes were inside of her eyes, painfully scratching her corneas each time she blinked. Our vets performed an entropion surgery and her eyes started healing almost immediately. Jadies is ready for a new life outside of the shelter – she can see clearly now, and she’s ready for a bright future! Come in to adopt Jadies any day of the week from 10:30am-5p; her adoption fee is waived, and she’s spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations.
Bruno Mars has been nurtured in foster care for over eight weeks in Los Alamos. He was surrendered to us absolutely terrified – we could hardly touch him and we couldn’t even get a leash on to take him for walks. Through foster care, Bruno is now crate, leash, and house trained; he loves other dogs and cats, especially his foster fur-family; he accepts treats, pets, and lap time; and he goes on several walks and hikes per day where he sees people and other animals. Bruno Mars even climbs mountains: here he is at 10,200ft! Bruno is 3.5 years of Chihuahua awesomeness looking for a patient and persistent forever person to further help him trust and love. His adoption fee is waived, and he is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and will go home with six months of free heart worm prevention! Call us at 505-753-8662 to set up a meet and greet with his foster family.
