Pavement Preservation Roadwork To Begin Monday August 26th On NM 68 Velarde To Dixon

Santa Fe – New Mexico Department of Transportation District Five will begin pavement preservation work on NM 68 from mile marker 12.70 to mile marker 23. 00 from Velarde north past the# Dixon turn off.

Starting Monday August 26 – NM 68 northbound and southbound lanes will have one lane closures in the Velarde area.  Once this portion of the roadway has been completed in Velarde, NM 68 northbound and southbound lanes through the canyon will be reduced to one lane with a pilot car and flagger operation guiding traffic thru the work zone.  Motorists can expect up to 15-minute delays Monday through Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  There is a 12’ width restriction.

This project is scheduled to be completed end of October; weather permitting. The NMDOT would like to thank you for your patience during this project.
