Pajarito Mountain Kicks Off Ski Season SaturdaybWith 14 Inches Of Snow And More Coming

Get those skis and snowboards ready … Pajarito Mountain kicks off the ski season this Saturday, Dec. 29.

Pajarito will have approximately 80 percent of its terrain open, including the locals’ favorites like the Fab Four serviced by five lifts. Pajarito received 14 inches of snow with this latest storm, for a total of nearly three feet of snow during the month of December.

“Despite the fact that we had to delay our opening, Mother Nature came through for us with 14 inches of snow already, which allows us to open Saturday for the season,” Pajarito Mountain General Manager Tom Long said. “With even more snow in the forecast this week and through the end of the year will have a great season opener with more than 80 percent of our trails open.”

Lift tickets are available at the Ticket Office, and are $49 for adults. Pajarito will be open daily through Sunday, Jan. 6, during the holiday season, beyond Jan. 7, Pajarito will be open Wednesdays through Sundays. For more details, visit Pajarito’s website, Pajarito.ski.

New this year … All kids who are ages 10 and younger can receive a free Power Kids Pass, which provides direct-to-lift access with no blackout dates to Pajarito Mountain, Sipapu Ski Resort, Purgatory Resort, Hesperus Ski Area and Arizona Snowbowl. The pass is valued at $399 and there is no purchase required.

Last season, Pajarito replaced the old Mitey Mite with a new Magic Carpet, which provides beginners an easier way to learn the sport and provides a better teaching area for beginners.
