Obituary for Alvin Lujan Mascarenas
Alvin Lujan Mascarenas, 19, a resident of Peñasco and Velarde, passed away on Friday, August 7, 2015.
He was preceded in death by great grandparents, Rueben and Ruth Salazar and Lorenzo and Elizaria Trujillo.
He is survived by his parents, Nathan and Staci Mascarenas of Penasco, brothers Justin and Zachary, sister, Marissa, who was his little joy; grandparents who were like his second parents Robert and Elsie Salazar of Velarde; grandparents, Arnold and Annette Mascarenas; aunts, Melissa (Danny) Martinez, Vanessa Mascarenas; uncles, Roberto Salazar, Matthew (Rochelle) Mascarenas, and Anthony Mascarenas and many cousins and close friends.
Alvin was loved by all who knew him. His smile and sense of humor brought so much joy to our hearts. Alvin was known for putting others before himself, he would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. He was adventurous and wanted do so much good in this world. He was always rushing through life doing everything he could do. We strongly feel that God had a different plan for our Alvin.
Public visitation will begin on Monday August 10, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Velarde, with a burial to follow at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Cemetery in Velarde.
Serving the family as pallbearers are Matias Romero, Kyle Fernandez, Ryan Martinez, Brian Salazar, Frankie and Mikey Medina, honorary pallbearers are the many friends that Alvin made in his journey through life.
