Jose A. Garcia (Tony) of Española
Jose A. Garcia (Tony), 72, a resident of Española passed away on Friday, December 16, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, Francisco and Matilda Garcia; brother, Pedro Garcia; wife, Olivia Garcia.
In his early years he joined the Army and National Guard. Tony moved to Arizona in the 70’s and enjoyed a career in the mining industry. In 2009 he returned to his hometown of Española. He was a very generous person and would help as many people as he could.
Family was his pride and joy along with his dog, “Honey” and many friends that he considered family. You could find him at home watching TV or western movies or eating at local restaurants in Española. He enjoyed life, lived it to the fullest and met our Lord with a smile.
Mr. Garcia is survived by his son, Anthony Garcia; companion, Christina Lopez; siblings, Raul Garcia (Rosa), Maria Garcia (Manuel) and Joann Gallegos (Leroy); grandchildren who he raised as his own, Maurica Garcia (Newman), Anthony Garcia (Silvana) and great-granddaughter Makensie Cubillas, who was his pride and joy as well as many nephews and nieces.
Public visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Ohkay Owingeh.

Bernabe (Barnie) Martinez of Medanales
Bernabe (Barnie) Martinez, 69, a resident of Medanales, passed away on Friday, December 15, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. Bernabe (Barnie) was preceded in death by his parents, Adelaido and Leontina Martinez; brother, Luis Martinez; sisters, Bennie Scotch and Eulalia Gonzales.
Barnie was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. In his spare time, he enjoyed farming, fishing, and hunting. He was also known for his great sense of humor. Barnie was a veteran of the U.S. Army (Vietnam). Prior to retiring he was employed with LANL for 35 years. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Barnie is survived by his wife, Vivian L. Martinez; sons, Adelaido J. Martinez and companion Antonette, and Miguel B. Martinez and companion Alicia; grandsons, Samuel I. Martinez and Javier S. Martinez; sisters, Helen (Buz) Garcia and Jeannette Martinez; brothers, Armante (Frances) Martinez, Sifredo (Amelia) Martinez, Fabian (MaryAnne) Martinez, Carlos (Linda) Martinez, Eduardo Martinez and Jose (Patricia) Archuleta; numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends whom he loved dearly.

Eddie R. Sanchez of Hernandez
Eddie R. Sanchez, 70, a resident of Hernandez, passed away following a lengthy illness on Saturday, December 16, 2017. Eddie was preceded in death by his son, Eddie L. Sanchez; parents, Frank and Severina Sanchez; in-laws, Vianes and Olivama Maestas; sister-in-law, Patty Vigil, brothers-in-law, Sam Garcia and Orlando Maestas; uncle, Jimmy S. Sanchez.
Eddie was a loving husband of 50 years and he was a loving father. Eddie was a Vietnam Veteran and loved his cat Taz. Eddie will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his wife, Eneda Sanchez; brothers, Frank R. and Jerome Sanchez; nieces, Daniella and Eloisa, Tonianne Vigil; nephew, Angelo Vigil, special nephew, Alex Sisneros Jr. and wife Carol; sisters-in-law, Charlene Moya, Dora, Juanita (Alex Sr.), Socorro (Rudy) and Bertha, brother-in-law, Tony Vigil; special friends, Sister Bernardita Abeyta, Rigo and Lupe Zapata and many other nephews and nieces.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Burial will be held at Santa Fe National Cemetery, date and time is pending at this time will be announced as soon as it becomes available.
Pallbearers who will be carrying Eddie to his final resting place will be Alex Sisneros Jr., and Rigo Zapata, honorary pallbearers, Jerome and Frank Sanchez, Angelo Vigil (Richard), and Tonianne Vigil.
