Leo Garcia of Ojo Caliente
Leo Garcia, a resident of Ojo Caliente, passed away on Monday, May 1, 2017. Public visitation will begin on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. in the Sangre de Cristo Chapel of DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m.
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ojo Caliente. Burial to follow at the Ojo Caliente Catholic Cemetery.
The family of Leo Garcia has entrusted the care of their loved one to the DeVargas Funeral Home & Crematory of the Espanola Valley.
Ramona Vigil of Ranchitos
Ramona Vigil, 85, a resident of Ranchitos formerly of Chamita passed away peacefully on Friday, April 28, 2017.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Emilio and Adela Gonzales; brothers, Luis, Jose, Manuel and Samuel Gonzales; sisters, Pablita Borrego, Beroniz Garcia, Susie Martinez; parents-in-law, Antonio Vigil and Maria de la Luz Romero; son-in-law, Freddie Tapia; grandsons, Christopher Tapia and Eric Vigil; granddaughter, Renee Vigil. Ramona loved to sing in the church choir and prayed the rosary daily.
She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She loved going to the senior dances with her husband and she led wedding marchas around the state for family and friends. She was a beautiful woman inside and out and always had a delicious meal for anyone who came to her home. She had a great sense of humor, loved company, liked to make everyone laugh and loved to talk on the phone. She had friends everywhere and just loved people.
She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Filimon Vigil; children, Richard Vigil (Margarita), Clyde Vigil (Guadalupe), Filimon Vigil Jr. (JoAnn), Evelyn Barnhart (Dean) Leonard Vigil (Angela), Darlene Parker (Kurt), Julie Marquez (Leko); sister, Dolores Martinez; sisters-in-law, Anna Gonzales, and Mary Lou Romero; 12 God-children, 27 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren; daughters-in-law, MaryAnn and Pearl Vigil and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family would like to express their most sincere gratitude and appreciation to Ambercare Hospice, Dr. Leslie Hayes, and nurses, Cindy Lujan and Amanda Lara for the wonderful care they gave to Ramona. Also, to anyone else who helped Ramona in anyway is greatly appreciated.

Serving the family as pallbearers will be, Kevin Vigil, Clyde Vigil Jr., Raymond Vigil, Robert Tapia, David Vigil, Keegan Parker, Leroy Rodriguez and Antonio Roybal.

Reynaldo F. Cordova of Chimayo
Reynaldo F. Cordova 88, a resident of Chimayo Passed away peacefully on Friday, April 28, 2017. He was born in Cundiyo on October 16, 1928. He was preceded in death by his parents Cayetano and Louisita Cordova, his first wife Viola Cordova, two sons Augustine (Aggie) and Peter Cordova, his siblings Molly Wheeler, Pedro Cordova, Mary Dominguez, Grace Nuanes, parent in-laws Abelino and Faustina Martinez.
Mr. Cordova is survived by his wife of 63 years Elaiza Cordova, his children Consuelo Maestas(Eddie), Danny Cordova (Maxine), Bert Cordova (Priscilla), Archie Cordova (companion Virginia), Angelo Cordova (companion Sandy), Isabel Cordova (Lloyd), Geneva Cordova (Victor). His Grandchildren Andrea, Antonio, Glen, Viola, Marty, Adan, Miguel, Jose, Daniel, Andrew, Antoinette, Jonathan, Matthew, Fabian, Tyler Rey, Christopher, Kimberly,Alexandra and Augustine. Eleven Great Grandchildren, a sister Della Roybal and a brother Medardo Vigil, brothers in-law Eppie Martinez (Rose), Cayetano Martinez (Tanya), Richard Martinez (+Marlene), Fidel Martinez, (Loyda), Anastacio Vigil and many other relatives and friends.
A Rosary will be held on Tuesday, May 2, 2017, at 7:45 PM at Holy Family Catholic Church, Chimayo, NM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, May 3, 2017, at 10:00 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church, with Interment to follow at the Dolores Cemetery, Chimayo, NM.
Serving the family as pallbearers will be Antonio Maestas, Marty Cordova, Adan Cordova, Andrew Cordova, Matthew Cordova, Tyler Rey Vigil-Cordova, Christopher Martinez, and Augustine Calderon. Honorary pallbearers will be the rest of his Grandchildren.
